Veronica of Milan

 

   Hello I am Saint Veronica of Milan. I was born in the year 1445, in Binasco, Italy. I grew up in a small village and I was part of a poor peasant family living outside of Milan. I was set on the path to Christian Virtues, and I developed a desire of saintliness and perfection.

   During my early life, I never had any education and at night I tried teaching myself how to read. That same night The Virgin Mary appeared to me and taught me catechism in the form of three mystical letters. One was called Purity of Intention. The second was called Abhorrence of Complaining. And the third reminder was to Daily Meditate. I served people by praying every day for them.

   At the age of 22, I was instructed before being able to join the Augustinian Order. I received a vision of Christ, in 1494, and I was given a message to deliver for the Pope. On the way to Rome, I had a six month illness and died on the day that I predicted which was the 13th of January. I became a saint in 1749. My feast day is the 28th of January and I am the patron saint of Milan, Italy.
